2017’s Sloth Solo Bike Tour was designed to connect 2016’s route north from Traverse City with 2014’s inaugural route from Grand Rapids to Ludington. The planned route would span 140 miles over a three-day period, including overnight stays at the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, Orchard Beach State Park, and Ludington State Park.
While avoiding the daily 60+ miles of travel from 2016’s aggressive tour of northwest Michigan, Sloth instead was faced with the most difficult hills he had yet to encounter… all while pulling his 100 pounds of gear. Even so, he was thankful he was heading south along his intended route… it would have been even worse traveling in the opposite direction!
This gallery has been split into daily collections. Sloth enjoyed an additional “bonus” day of cycling from Ludington to the south, visiting Pentwater and Silver Lake. In the end, the 2017 Sloth Bike Tour offered 180 magical miles of incredible scenery and unforgettable moments.
