Shurm Daddy Rec Ride 2017

The Shurm Daddy Rec Ride is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan and its programs benefiting those who deal with anxiety, depression, and other disorders. Its “be nice” anti-bullying and suicide prevention initiative has been phenomenally popular in Grand Rapids and takes on a personal meaning for the staff at the Loose Spokes Bike Shop in Grand Rapids, who ride in memory of their friend Brian Schuurman (AKA Shurm Daddy) each year. The 13-mile route traveled up and down the Grand River and through the southwest Grand Rapids neighborhoods, culminating in a delicious dinner at Lamar Park featuring food from Johnny B’z. A wonderful way to spend a sunny summer Sunday afternoon!
