Day One – Friday
Well, the theory is: if you’re going to have a day of rain, get it over with right at the top. This was indeed the case in 2016. Participants were pelted with a morning shower and then blown away by a late afternoon storm which ultimately resulted in the first route closure since the first Wisconsin Challenge Walk MS event in 2008. Luckily, most of the walkers made it to the finish prior to the storm and the rest were swiftly retrieved by our incredible SAG crew. But the day of rain made its mark: blisters were a big problem this year and, among other issues, resulted in several members of Team LaDorkas being unable to complete all 50 miles of walking through Sunday.
