The ninth annual Wisconsin Challenge Walk MS weekend was a somewhat bittersweet event: this year marked the possible end of the event’s location in Door County and – over the past six years – at the Alpine Resort in Egg Harbor. In addition, several veteran walkers were missing from the roster, giving the walk a feeling of being somewhat “incomplete”. On the other hand, the event also featured more than two dozen new “rookies”, one of whom raising more than $10,000 to find a cure for multiple sclerosis. Wow!
Friday both opened and closed with rain, which did not do any favors for walkers’ feet. For the first time the route was forced to close at the tail end of the day due to nearby lightning strikes and possible hail. While blisters were a significant issue throughout the weekend, Saturday and Sunday featured sunny, gorgeous 70-degree weather for the walkers to enjoy.
The videos and photos from each day are split into separate galleries, including Team LaDorkas’ pre-walk “travel day” on Thursday.
