With his solo bike tour officially at an end, Sloth left Sister Bay and headed south on Route 42 to Egg Harbor. Stopping by the Alpine Resort, he dropped off the majority of the 40 to 50 pounds of gear from the back of the bike and headed out to meet Team LaDorkas at the Door Peninsula Winery and Distillery just north of Sturgeon Bay. Ultimately, Thursday was spent re-connecting with old friends and prepping for the upcoming Challenge Walk MS event the next day.
Sloth started out his day yet again doing laundry… this time at a rate many times that of the laundromat in Manitowoc
Okay… pretty typical washing machines…
… for more than THREE BUCKS a load?!
The “Door-opoly” board game was on sale in several locations throughout the weekend. Very nice!
Steph, meanwhile, was traveling in from the south along Lake Michigan to meet up with the gang
Wait a minute… was the presence of Lake Michigan not enough to cause the desire to stop here?
Sloth spotted this hay tractor on Route 42 north of the Door Peninsula Winery… very well done!
Sloth later discovered that the Shipwrecked brewery in Egg Harbor was owned by the Door Peninsular Winery
Speaking of which…
The Door Peninsula Winery is known for its flavored fruit wines and eclectic gift shop
The winery is a massive operation now with a distillery attached (at left)
Free tasting? How can you go wrong?
These eye-catching arrangements were made entirely of edible plants
Check out the wine bottle water source… brilliant!
Steph spotted these cool light fixtures on the garage facility adjacent to the winery (complete with bird nest)
Team LaDorkas captain Kim arrived and was more than happy to let us know precisely what the fox says

VIDEO: Sloth’s take on the Door Peninsula Winery and Distillery
The winery was an interesting blend of down-to-Earth fun and contemporary art… similar to much of Door County
The lower level featured the work of several local artisans
The Door Peninsula Distillery is a relatively new facility, already churning out award-winning spirits
Sloth enjoyed the airiness of the distillery tasting room… very nice!
One way to keep the zombies away – kill the brain before it gets eaten!
“Liquid Assets”… very nice…
Meanwhile, the winery tasting room was a dangerous place with its free and unlimited sampling
LOVE the wine holder…
Steph, of course, loved this wine holder instead… typical!
Some of the gift shop’s items seemed made specifically for Team LaDorkas
“I’ll take them all!”
Need an extra cheesy zest to your meal? Try this…
In the hands of Team LaDorkas, certain gift shop items might be put to… well… other uses…
Team LaDorkas later took a tour of the facility and learned the process of creating fruit wines
Fermentation at its finest…
After the winery tour and fortified by delicious cherry brandy (yum!), Team LaDorkas arrived in Egg Harbor for Challenge Walk MS
Connie was already hard at work prepping for the weekend
Friendly door hangers at the cabins welcomed participants
The waters of Egg Harbor were cheery and bright in the mid-day sun
Steph strikes an adorable pose
“But first… let’s take a selfie!”
“Feel the love, Sloth!”
Team LaDorkas is reunited with the support staff… a round of beer, please!
Thanks to Sloth… or thanks to the beer? (Perhaps both…)
At last… beer for Sloth!
The Society decked out their mannequins in MS bling as usual
Arrrrgggh… welcome back, mateys!

Dinner at Mojo Rosa’s!
Kim’s dinner took a little longer to prepare, resulting in an inevitable pouty face
