2012 GRPS Turkey Trot
The Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day run/walk event that raises money for Grand Rapids Public Schools Athletics. While not strictly a Team N3kk1d event, team captain Sloth has been involved with the event for several years and has watched it grow exponentially. In 2012, GRPS partnered with the City of Grand Rapids and the Van Andel Arena and brought the Turkey Trot downtown. The resulting turnout was incredible: over 2,000 participants from over 28 states! More photos can be found on Facebook.
A huge crowd packed Van Andel Arena’s entrance, ready to burn off calories!
The route took runners and walkers in a rough circle from the arena and back along the Grand River.
Jay seemed unpeturbed by all of the the excitement.
Water and treats stood ready for the finishers!
All right… time to get in line, everyone…
